This e-cookbook was created for a very special purpose:
The autumn of 2005, my mother, Colleen Moeller, went through cancer surgery and chemo. On April 2, 2007, we learned that the cancer has returned. Thus we begin our second chapter of the journey. We are so grateful to the Lord for all of the many ways He is guiding, directing, and encouraging us as we travel this road.
Shortly after we first learned my mother had cancer, many dear friends helped me put together a surprise project, a friendship quilt, for her. My mother has enjoyed countless hours of rest beneath the folds of the quilt. And, it afforded many opportunities to share the News of Christ with people in the hospital as she received her chemo treatments. [To read more about my mother's cancer journey, we welcome you to visit our family's prayer blog.]
On that same note: In July 2006, I had another project up my sleeve. I desired to put together a fund-raiser e-cookbook to help my parents a bit with the financial side of this journey. Thus, Home Thyme was birthed.
I sent an e-mail to friends and family asking if they had any favorite original family recipes, or other tasty recipes that they would be willing to share for the project. As time passed, the word continued to spread beyond our circle of acquaintance. The generosity of all those who helped with the project (including those I/we didn't know personally) was such a delight and very humbling.
Home Thyme is wrapped up with many hours of labor and love, and is filled with over 500 delectable recipes from over 80 different kitchens. Working with all of these yummy recipes, I was constantly hungry during the production of this cookbook, and I look forward to trying them all.
My love and gratitude goes out to everyone that helped make this project a reality.
