Content to Trust
A shaken young woman knelt in prayer beside her bed, tears streaming down her cheeks. The gentle wind blowing through her window wisped around her face as she poured out her heart in prayer, saying, "Father, here I am, encircled by fear and entangled by discontentment. My circumstances are anything but perfect. I am afraid. What will happen to me if...I never get married? How long will I have to wait?" "My child," a voice spoke to her. "Trust me. I am Maker of the universe, Creator of night and day. Author of every life on earth. I am now and forever. I always was and am. I care for every living thing. I placed the stars in orbit and cause the rain to soak the parched ground. I love you so very much. Just look around. Do you not see me in everything that surrounds you? I am here next to you...shielding you from all evil. Trust me...Trust me. I will mold your future into something wonderful, if you give it to me. Will you trust me?" The words echoed around her. Trust, it was hard thing to do when your future was so uncertain. Wait a minute...what was she thinking? Here was a GOD who loved her enough to send His only Son to die for her, to form her into being, even enough to chasten her. Who has made all the glorious things around her. How could she not trust Him? Her future would always be certain in His hands. With the light of the sunset softly gleaming on her rumpled hair, she made up her mind. "Father," she said, "I will trust You. I give you all of my life, my love, my future, and my future marriage. Do with me as You please. I know You will only do what is best for me. Thank you, Father. Amen." She calmly prayed.
Whether we are discontent to wait for marriage or anything else...let us strive to give it all to GOD; to trust Him with every aspect of our lives--for He is worthy to be trusted. Who else can we trust so fully with our entire beings than the One who loves us beyond measure, beyond comprehension, beyond definition? Come...let us trust Him!
"Commit thy way unto the LORD; Trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass." ~ Psalm 37:5
