Modern Alaskan Sourdough Starter

- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 4 c. lukewarm water (110-115ºF)
- 4 cup unsifted flour
Place yeast in glass stoneware or plastic bowl. Add about 1/2 c. lukewarm water to yeast; stir until dissolved with a wooden spoon. Add remaining water alternately with wooden spoon. Cover with towel.
Place in warm place for 6 hours or over night.
The starter is ready to use. It will look bubbly. Stir before measuring. Cook or refrigerate. (Can be stored indefinitely.)
