Swiss Patties

- 2 lb. ground beef
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/2 t. pepper
- 1/2 t/ garlic salt
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 1 t. parsley
- 2 eggs
Vegetable Layer:
- 3 sliced carrots
- 1/2 onion, coarsely chopped
- 3 stalks celery, sliced
- 1/2 c. green pepper, cut in chunks
- 1/4 lb. sliced mushrooms
Gravy:
- 2 T. cornstarch
- 2 T. beef base
- 2 c. water
- 1 (10 oz) can tomato soup
Mix first 8 ingredients and form into patties. Brown well in a 12-in. iron skillet with 1 T. oil. Prepare vegetables and layer over top of patties. Pour gravy over all.
Heat on stove till bubbly; transfer to a preheated 350ºF oven. Bake for one hour.
