Mom's Easy Alfredo

  • 2 T. olive oil or butter
  • 4 large garlic cloves (or to taste), minced
  • 1 qt. half and half
  • 1 T. Italian seasoning
  • 2 T. cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 c. shredded parmesan cheese
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 (1 lb) pkg. fettuccine noodles

Saute minced garlic in olive oil or melted butter for two minutes--do not brown garlic. Add half and half. Mix cornstarch with milk and add to sauce. Add seasonings and cheese and cook on low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.

Serve over cooked fettuccine with steamed vegetables, cooked chicken breasts, or shrimp.
