Tea Time Tassies

- 1 pkg (4 oz) cream cheese
- 1/2 c. butter or marg.
- 1 c. flour
- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 T. butter, softened
- 1 t. vanilla
- dash of salt
- 2/3 c. pecans, coarsely chopped
For the cheese pastry: Allow cream cheese and 1/2 c. butter to soften. Mix well. Stir in flour and chill dough for about 3 hours in refrigerator. Shape into 2 dozen balls. Place in tiny ungreased muffin cups. Press dough in the bottom and on sides.
For pecan filling: Beat together egg, sugar, 1 T. butter, vanilla and salt; just until mixture is smooth. Divide the pecans among the pastry-lined cups. Add egg mixture. Bake at 325ºF for 30 minutes or until filling is set. Allow them to cool before removing from pans.
