Sour Cream Pound Cake

Makes: 10 servings

  • 3/4 cup margarine or butter, softened
  • 2-1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1-1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1 t. baking powder
  • 1 T. vanilla

Beat marg. (or butter) and powdered sugar with an electic mixer until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating just until yellow disappears.

Mix flour and baking powder. Add flour mixture alternately with sour cream. Beat at low speed until just blended after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan.

Bake at 350ºF for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
