To Mend a Crack in a China Cup

Immerse the cup in a pan of milk. Simmer for 3/4 of an hour. Wash and dry the cup. The protein in the milk is what does the trick.

Is your soup too salty?

Place a couple of whole, peeled potatoes in your soup. The potatoes will absorb most of the salt. Discard potatoes when they are cooked.

For a Nice Rising Yeast Bread

When making yeast bread, heat the liquid to 130° F. Place kneaded dough in a warm place to rise until almost double the orginal size. It will give you a nice fluffy loaf.

Scratches on Corelle Plates

To get rid of grey scratches on Corelle plates from silverware, use a dish rag and some baking soda. With a little elbow grease, it should come right off.

A Book with lots of Household Hints and Tips

If you would like to find a book with lots of household hints and tips, I would recommend reading "Creative Home Organizer" by Emilie Barnes. Wonderful book! There is something new to learn on every page.
