Spicy Raisin Coffee Cake
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 t. vanilla
- 1 c. sour cream
- 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1-1/2 t. baking powder
- 1 t. baking soda
- 1/4 t. salt
- 1 c. walnuts, chopped
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 t. ground cinnamon
- 1-1/2 c. raisins
Cream together butter and 1 cup sugar till fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Blend in sour cream. Sift together well. Blend in sour cream. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, and salt; stir into creamed mixture; mix well. Spread half the batter in greased 9x9x2-in. pan.
Mix nuts, 1/2 c. sugar, and cinnamon; sprinkle half over batter. Top with raisins. Spoon on remaining batter. Top with reserved nut mixture. Bake at 350F for 40 minutes. Serve warm.
