Fine Feathers Do Not Make Fine Birds
by Kate J. NeilyEdited and Revised by Amber Moeller
A Brief Description: Nelly learns a hard lesson in the bondage of lies and of her love for outward adornment. Will she ever tell her parents the truth about what she did?
True beauty is not what our outward adornment is, but what is found within (1 Pet. 3:3-4, Prov. 31:30).
There are many lessons to be gleaned from the life of Nelly--two lessons being how important it is to be honest about all things with your parents and to not be vain. When you do something wrong, confess it right away to your parents. When you don't, you will feel the pain that Nelly felt.
We hope that you enjoy this selection and pray that it is a helpful tool in showing what is right and wrong.
