Musings
One of my most cherished memories growing up is when my father would take me on a doughnut date. Each Saturday morning before heading to work, my father took one of my siblings or me (we rotated weeks) to spend some special one-on-one quality time together.
We'd raid the coin jar, then head up to our local convenience store, which was a mile from our home in the country, to grab one or two doughnuts and a carton of milk. From there we would head down to a small park not far from our town's golf course. We would sit next to a pond set in a little valley, watch the ducks and other animals that gathered there, and listen to the sound of a man-made waterfall making music in the background--it was a special little scene. It might not have been anything spectacular to everyone, but to me, it was paradise just to be there with my father. As we ate, we'd visit and laugh about many things in life.
My parents made many sacrifices on our behalf growing up, but they always sought to not make their time with us suffer. They are a living example of Christ-likeness to me. I feel very blessed to have parents who are a lovely example of Christ to all the lives they touch.
In this little nook, I'll share some of my musings great and small. I pray it will be a blessing to you.
