Week One
"He asked for strength that he might achieve; he was made weak that he might obey. He asked for health that he might do great things; he was given infirmity that he might do better things. He asked for riches that he might be happy; he was given poverty that he might be wise. He asked for power that he might have the praise of men; he was given weakness that he might feel the need of God. He asked for all things that he might enjoy life; he was given Life that he might enjoy all things."

Week Two
"If man could make a single rose, we should give him an empire; yet roses and flowers no less beautiful are scattered in profusion over the world and no one regards them."
~ Luther

Week Four
"Thou art not the more holy for being praised; nor the more worthless for being dispraised. What thou art, that thou art; neither by words canst thou be made greater than what thou art in the sight of God."
~ Thomas a Kempis
Week Five
"We ought to acquaint ourselves with the beautiful. We ought to contemplate it with rapture and attempt to raise ourselves up to its height. And in order to gain strength for that, we must keep ourselves thoroughly unselfish--we must not make it our own, but rather seek to communicate it; indeed, to make sacrifice of it to those who are dear and precious to us."
~ Goethe
