Thoughts
~ June BergmannYou don't have to tell how you live each day.
You don't have to say if you work or play;
A tried true barometer serves in the place,
However you live, it shows in your face.
The faults, the deceit that you bear in your heart
Will not stay inside where it first got its start;
For sinew and blood are a thin veil of lace,
What you wear in your heart, you wear in your face.
If your life is unselfish, if for others you life,
For not what you get, but how much you can give;
If you live close to God, in His infinite grace
You don't have to tell it, it shows in your face.
Week Four
"The small day-to-day sacrifices you make are the polishers of your personality . . . A man's greatest enemies are often located under his hat . . . If your mind has a boil on it, never tickle it with the feather of self-pity . . . A sincere prayer in the morning does for a man what winding does to a watch . . . No person is poorer than he or she who is dissatisifed . . . What God knows about you is more important than what the neighbors say about you . . . There's a poignant lesson to be learned from the fact that the Creator gave you two ears and two eyes, and only one tongue . . . The real test of tolerance is to be able to tolerate the person who's intolerable . . . Better than boasting of one's ancestors is to do some growing of your own . . . An empty pocket can teach you a more valuable lesson than a bulging one."
