Welcome

It is a pleasure to greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

BVW is dedicated to encouraging young ladies, wives, and mothers to live a virtuous life for Christ, and to be contented keepers-at-home; serving others cheerfully.

Our prayer has been that this would be a place where you will find like-minded fellowship (with the same vision, desires, and interests), and receive encouragement in our God-given role.

BVW is primarily composed of material provided by our guests. We hope that you will help us in our endeavor by submitting items that would be useful, encouraging, and inspiring to others. We pray that your time here will be a blessing!

August 2008 Announcements

Where does one begin to describe the past three years, except that the Lord has been merciful and gracious to us. I am thankful for the time I have been able to pour into my family as we watched our precious mother, wife, daughter, and friend make her Homeward journey. I've been blessed to be able to spend this season with my family and minister to them in whatever way I can. I really appreciate your patience as I haven't had time to devote to this site, or the e-mails I've received, as I have in the past. I haven't forgotten about you. I do plan to resume updating BVW in the near future, so please be sure to check back.

My Mother's Journey: March 10, 1956 - August 2, 2008

September 28, 2005 my mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She went through surgery shortly thereafter, and finished chemo in March of 2006. On April 2, 2007, we learned that the cancer had returned. The last week of April brought with it a more extensive surgery than last time. She underwent more treatments. From January 2008, my mom was in and out of the hospital due to obstructions and other complications; which meant another surgery on March 6th, with another surgery that followed 10 days later due to a serious abdominal infection from her previous surgery. My mom went through other complications, infections, and long hospitalizations. On August 2nd, 2008, the Lord saw fit to call our sweet and precious Colleen Home. We were blessed to have her at home the last 6 weeks of her time on earth. She desired most to be with her family at home, and we were thankful she was able to have her heart's desire. We would continue to covet your prayers as we adjust to life without our Colleen.

We will still update our prayer blog as we have more to share about Colleen and our family. We welcome you to visit it at: www.homeschoolblogger.com/prayerbasket
